Last spring, Barack Obama said "Art teaches people to see each other through each other's eyes. It teaches us to respect and understand people who are not like us. That makes us better citizens and makes our democracy work better." (quote from Brian Lehrer Show, WNYC October 24,2008) I embrace this idea of art by photographing people in the city and their views out their windows.

I have found that many New Yorkers spend much of their window gazing time looking into their neighbor's apartments. Through this voyeurism, form a sense of community. We are never alone here in New York.
